Recently on 17/6/2014 @ ILTC Malaysia coordinated
a Protest against JPJ Malaysia
Disabled Malaysians are shocked, distraught and
outraged that the Road
and Transport Department’s (RTD) has
arbitrarily imposed a new nationwide policy ruling that insisting disabled
drivers requiring doctor's letters when applying for exemptions renewal of the
their driving licence fee after the Government waived the driver’s licence fee
for disabled person.
The new ruling is unfair and greatly inconveniences the disabled. We
upset that the authorities have this habit of making new rules and regulations
without seeking any input from NGO’s of PWD’s.
Therefore, more than 40 disabled persons were gathered to show a public
protest on JPJ.
We had highlighted our critical issues and to
create awareness in the disabled community.
